Airties is the most widely deployed provider of Wi-Fi Mesh solutions to operators around the globe. Airties designs and develops software and hardware that enables seamless wireless integration at the touch of a button, increased wireless speeds, and coverage throughout subscribers’ entire homes. The comprehensive product portfolio includes Wi-Fi mesh extenders, wireless set-top boxes and cloud-based Wi-Fi monitoring and optimization systems.
 
Airties is seeking a Cloud Operations Engineer based in Istanbul for its AWS cloud-based Wi-Fi monitoring and optimization system. This position involves hands on deployment, administration, maintenance, and support and of the system and data extraction for analysis. Your deliverables will enable our product and engineering teams to spin up, maintain, and monitor the necessary infrastructure they need to run our applications and services. As our Cloud Operations Engineer, you’ll get the opportunity to choose and implement a variety of technologies that will help us improve and streamline our infrastructure and processes.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES
 
· Design, implement and improve our cloud infrastructure to support our microservices platform. Keeping our service fast, reliable, and secure while using the latest technology and processes is of utmost importance. The type of service that requires a great SRE/DevOps to own the uptime.

· Evaluate, architect, and implement technology options for cloud management of our enterprise SaaS products

· Monitor and analyse our infrastructure and applications with open-source or best of breed paid tools; troubleshoot, maintain, and enhance our platform

· Ensure we have optimized our infrastructure considering our product needs, pricing, scalability, smooth customer, and developer experience

· Ensure we continuously improve our security by leveraging best practices and tools available

· Develop our automated CI/CD, packaging, deployment, and execution environment infrastructure (scaling, recovery, etc.)

· Be our AWS platform expert driving and participating in design discussions

· Design, build, update and maintain our cloud environment and development/deployment processes as we scale our product

· Contribute with automation and scripting languages

· Drive new solutions and help drive the architectural direction of the platform infrastructure

· Diagnosis and resolution of complex system and application issues

· Work with the development team to build a development environment that engineers love

· Ensure automation and identify ways for improvement

· Grow your backend development skills by joining the development team and owning features

· Stay up to date on emerging technologies

· Work independently and as part of a team
 
QUALIFICATIONS
 
· BSc degree in Engineering

· Min. 3 years of relevant Platform Engineering, SRE, and/or DevOps work experience in production environments

· Min. 2 years of experience with scripting language, coupled with related automation projects, at least one or more of the following: Bash, Python, NodeJS, Ruby, or PHP

· Highly familiar with AWS with 3+ years of hands-on AWS experience

· Got experience in building distributed, failure-resistant architecture, including disaster recovery, backups, failover, etc.

· Owned the uptime of distributed cloud-based systems

· Experience with “Infrastructure-as-a-code” and automation/configuration management tools such as CloudFormation, Terraform, Chef, Ansible, Puppet

· Experience with Docker preferably on ECS and/or EKS

· Operational understanding of monitoring systems and time-series databases e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, Elasticsearch

· Experienced in setting up CI/CD pipelines, testing and deployment tools (e.g. Jenkins, Git, GitHub, AWS Developer tools)

· Proficient with spoken and written English

· Self-driven, responsible, and keen to learn and improve

· Independent, goal-oriented, proactive attitude

· Disciplined and communicative in remote environments

· Results-driven with strong commitment to complete tasks
 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
 
· Development experience with object-oriented languages in high-load-high-availability environments

· Comprehensive understanding of networking concepts (layers, firewalls, DNS, VPN, etc.) and how to build secure infrastructure and an awareness of common server security vulnerabilities.

· Have experience in designing and building scalable ETL infrastructure

· Have experience working in a distributed team(s) environment

· Got SaaS product experience, especially in a dynamic environment

· Used to own a 24/7 SaaS product, running on a major vendor cloud

· Have experience as a remote worker

· Got AWS certification(s)
